Registration Information

How do I register for the Destination CME?

Online registration will open soon. Space is limited to 50 optometrists, and registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

What is the registration deadline?

Registration will close once the conference reaches capacity or by June 1, 2027, whichever occurs first. On-site registration will not be available.

What is included in my conference fee?

Your registration fee includes:
  • Admission to the Monday Welcome Reception
  • Up to 10 hours of in-person CME
  • Breakfast and lunch during educational sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday
  • Conference materials and resources provided by speakers

What is the registration fee, and when is it due?

AOA or OAOP Members are $795 and Non-AOA Members are $1195.

A minimum deposit of 50% of the registration fee is required to reserve your seat at the conference. Registrants will receive an invoice upon registration.

The remaining balance must be paid in full by March 1, 2027. Registrations with outstanding balances after this date may be subject to cancellation and forfeit of reserved conference space. OAOP reserves the right to release unpaid registrations to attendees on the waiting list.

How do I cancel my registration?

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to meetings@oaop.org. If you do not receive confirmation of receipt within one business day, please call (405) 524-1075.

  • Cancellations received by April 6, 2027, are eligible for a 75% refund of the registration fee.
  • Cancellations received by April 7-May 6, 2027, are eligible for a 50% refund of the registration fee.
  • No refunds will be granted for cancellations received May 7, 2027 or after.

Attendees are responsible for canceling their own airfare, hotel accommodations, travel arrangements, excursions, and any other travel-related expenses. OAOP is not responsible for fees, penalties, or losses assessed by third-party providers.

Can I transfer my registration to another optometrist?

Yes, your registration may be transferred to another individual attending the same conference at no additional charge, unless there is a rate difference for membership status. Requests for substitutions must also be submitted by email and must be completed two weeks prior to the start of the conference.

Resort Housing

How do I make my hotel reservation?

Book through the OAOP reservation link to receive the group rate of $349 per night for single or double occupancy, plus the $42 nightly resort fee and applicable taxes.

The group rate is available for up to three nights before and three nights after the conference, based on availability at the time of booking. The reservation link will be released on July 9, 2026.

Who do I contact with questions about my reservation?

Please contact the resort’s reservations team directly. If you do not get the support you need, please contact heatherlyn@oaop.org.

Can I arrive early or extend my stay?

Absolutely. The discounted group rate may be available for up to three nights before and after the conference, subject to availability.

What is the hotel’s cancellation policy?

The resort’s cancellation policy will be outlined in your reservation confirmation.

Can I reserve a suite?

Suites are available in limited quantities. Please contact the resort directly for availability and pricing.

How many restaurants are located on the resort?

The resort features several dining options ranging from casual waterfront fare to upscale dining experiences.

What does the resort fee include?

Please visit the Resort Information page for a list of amenities and activities included with the resort fee.


Continuing Medical Education

How many hours can I earn?

Attendees may earn up to 10 hours of CME/CE.

Are all sessions included in my conference fee?

Yes. All educational sessions listed on the conference agenda are included with registration.

Are the sessions CME/CE accredited?

Yes. OAOP is an approved provider through the Oklahoma Board of Examiners in Optometry. If you are licensed outside Oklahoma, please verify acceptance with your state’s licensing board.

Will OAOP submit my hours to the Oklahoma Board of Examiners in Optometry?

Yes. Once attendance has been verified, OAOP will submit eligible continuing education hours to the Oklahoma Board of Examiners in Optometry on your behalf.

Will OAOP submit my hours to ARBO?

No. OAOP does not report attendance to ARBO for this event. You may submit your transcript directly to ARBO at arbo@arbo.org.

Is this a COPE-approved event?

No. This conference is not COPE-approved.

Will sessions be available online?

No. All educational programming will be offered exclusively in person.

How do I access lecture notes?

If provided by the speakers, lecture materials will be available through the event website.

When will the schedule be finalized?

The conference website will be updated regularly as the educational sessions are confirmed.

If I’m late to a session, can I still receive credit?

Continuing medical education credit is awarded only for full attendance. Late arrivals may not qualify for credit for that session.


Flight and Transportation

What is the closest major airport to Key Largo?

Miami International Airport (MIA) is the closest major airport. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) is another option.

How far is the airport from the resort?

The resort is approximately 62 miles from Miami International Airport.

Will shuttle service be provided?

Because attendees will arrive and depart at varying times, OAOP does not plan to provide group transportation. Attendees are encouraged to share their travel plans with OAOP if they are interested in coordinating rides with other participants.

What is the cost of transportation?

Transportation costs vary depending on whether you choose a rideshare service, private shuttle, taxi, or rental car.

Is there a shuttle to local attractions or restaurants?

Information regarding local transportation options will be shared if available through the resort.

Is the group flying together?

No. Attendees are welcome to book flights that best fit their schedules and preferences.

What is the daily parking fee at the resort?

Overnight self-parking is $10 per vehicle, per night, and valet parking is $15 per vehicle, per night.


Location Information

What is the weather like in July?

July in Key Largo is warm and tropical, with daytime temperatures typically in the upper 80s. Humidity and brief afternoon showers are common, so lightweight clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a light rain jacket are recommended.


General Information

Who can attend the Welcome Reception?

Registered attendees and registered guests are welcome to attend. Guest tickets may be purchased during registration or added later.

What can I do in my free time?

Key Largo offers something for everyone, including snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing charters, paddleboarding, kayaking, sunset cruises, spa services, shopping, and local dining.

Will there be Wi-Fi in the conference space?

Yes. Complimentary Wi-Fi will be available in the conference meeting areas.

What is the conference attire?

Conference attire is resort casual. Because meeting room temperatures can vary, we recommend bringing a light sweater or jacket.

What are the COVID-19 protocols?

OAOP will follow any applicable public health guidelines in effect at the time of the conference, as well as policies established by the resort and local authorities. Protocols may change based on evolving recommendations.
